BIOGRAPHY

Madeleine Bussemaker is a Professor of Chemical Engineering and co-founder of Mantisonix, a start-up established in 2024 to scale PFAS sonolysis into practical remediation solutions. Her research spans water and environmental remediation, sustainable supply chains, waste and biomass processing, and ultrasonic effects in biological systems.

Madeleine's current work focuses on tackling emerging contaminants using new and hybrid approaches, developed in collaboration with Mantisonix. Her portfolio includes parametric studies on sonochemical effects and sustainable materials research across a number of application areas.
